Block heat and power plants are combined to generate thermal heat and electricity by utilizing “cold-pressed vegetable oils” as the catalyst for the reaction. These units are becoming extremely popular due to their portability and flexibility. They are designed for immediate use; once they are delivered to your home or business, their only requirement is a solid foundation to stand on.

The block heat and power plant combination provides a modular assembly that can be configured and adapted to changing circumstances. These units are appropriate for residential dwellings, schools, offices, hotels, industrial businesses, and manufacturing facilities. Qualities of the units include the length of time the technology has been in use to assure it is not dangerous and that it has proved to be economical. Its design is compact and inconspicuous. Assembly is easy and units can be delivered ready to connect. The design of the unit ensures that it is “vibration-free” due to the first-rate acoustic installation process the product has undergone. The machines are odorless, and they can be located in a wide variety of places and spaces.

Because block heat uses only vegetable oil, a number of advantages exist for the environment. Vegetable oil is a pure and natural product; it is neutral in the realm of carbon dioxide emissions; and it has no sulphur emissions. It is recognized as a “super fuel” with a heat value estimated at only four percent lower than that of diesel fuel. Another strong point in its favor is the fact that it can be manufactured anywhere in the world and it is NOT in competition with land used for food production. In fact, thanks to the ability of energy crops to be grown in traditionally dry climates, new areas for growth can be attained.

Vegetable oil is bio-degradable, non-poisonous, and creates no other gases. It is practically fire-proof with a “flash point” of 300 degrees Celsius. There are no long and drawn out transportation issues that have to be dealt with to get the energy source from one place to another. It offers a surplus of oxygen when combined with rapeseed and is a potential bright spot for farmers as a future energy crop.

When plant materials and raw materials are utilized (burned or composted), the environment cycle is naturally completed. When used, these all-natural materials only give off as much carbon dioxide as they have taken in during their growth cycle. Therefore, it is a zero-sum amount and known as carbon neutral.

Another advantage to farmers growing bioenergy fuels is the fact that these products do not need to mature and, therefore, no weed control is needed. A variety of possibilities for energy crops exist, none of which need to use the same land as agricultural crop production.

Companies such as Biocon Energy can provide maintenance for these systems, online monitoring for any maintenance needs, and they also supply the oil and filters. Additionally, they will dispose of used filters in a responsible manner. An early warning detection system is also built into the machines in the event of repair needs.
