China´s Yangtze river is being threatened by global warming

Yahoo! My Web Experts have found out that China should start showing more interest in global warming due to the fact that the large river which runs through China called the river Yangtze will cause immense floods, drought and storms which will have an effect on all cities, even Shanghai. In time the ice from the Himalayas will melt more and more causing the river to become even larger and more dangerous.

The World Wide Fund for Nature and some Chinese research institutions worked on this report together and the leading researcher Xu Ming stated, "Extreme climate events such as storms and drought disasters will increase as climate change continues to alter our planet.“

The report declares that the temperature within the area of the river will rise by 1.5 to 2-0 degrees celsius during the next 50 years. This temperature rise will lead to the strong changes in the weather causing storms and other natural catastrophes. A flood for example would be a huge problem for the country due to the fact that the river has the most productive land surrounding it.

While the river seems to be a huge problem the scientists have also discovered that the ocean is becoming another problem. The ocean level has risen up to 11 centimeters within the last 30 years. This change might not seem dramatic but in the natural balance these small changes are often the cause for extreme reactions from nature. The report said, "Climate change will make coastal cities like Shanghai more vulnerable to sea level rises, extreme climate events, as well as natural and human-induced disasters.“

Fact is though that it is not only China looking to face these kinds of problems. Every person in every city and every country of the world will have to prepare for changes in weather leading to changes in every day life.
