Solar Energy Windows can Supply all the Energy needed in New York
No city in the United States is more popular and well known as the city that never sleeps – New York. New York is known for the largest buildings, the most popular sights and much more, but now the city is wanting more – more green. New York is looking to take large steps toward reducing greenhouse gases and using more renewable energy.
David Patterson, the Governor of New York wants to provide funds for solar energy projects to reduce the greenhouse emissions and save energy. Thanks to the $10 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) made to enable the installation of solar energy systems and to make New York more ecological will also create jobs in the industry. Patterson definetely sees where changes can be made and due to the pressure from the white house, New York is willing to take a step toward renewable energies.
Although there are no detailed reports as to where the funds will move to, it is likely that the funds will be given to schools, federal buildings and community-owned electricity providers. The funds seem be a good subject of discussion due to the fact that many people believe that the skyline would be an excellent object to combine solar energy with. The high buildings with the large glass surfaces are ideal for capturing the suns rays. Development is already moving into the direction of combining glass with a photovoltaic system. Scientists are working on a solar dye to coat the glass surface to absorb the suns energy but at the same time also pass some light through to the interior of the building.
