New York to go Green With Eco Project

Yahoo! My Web New York will soon be ranking as the second state with the second largest photovoltaic capacity. The Governor of New York has said that a 100 MW project is going to be launched together with a 50 MW project. Both projects will add up to 150 MW showing other states how it should be done.

The latest projects are part of New Yorks plans to produce 45 percent of the electricity used by renewable energy solutions and energy efficient solutions. New York is wanting to reach these renewable energy goals by 2015.

The New York Power Authority is wanting to install solar modules that will produce up to 100 MW. These installations are to be made at municipal facilities, public and private schools, businesses and state agencies throughout New York. The New York Power Authority will issue a Request for Expressions of Interest for the purpose of exploring a public-private partnership for the installations. The deadline for receipt of RFEI proposals is July 7, 2009.

If the project would be issued then a project starting in 2010 is likely.

The Mayor of New York City Micheal Bloomberg said that he would like all of the cities skyscrapers to have wind turbines built ontop to raise the amount of green energy being produced.
