2008 Fuel Cell Seminar Expected to Generate Enthusiasm As Well As Energy

Yahoo! My Web With the current global market crisis and talk of recession still ongoing, both U.S. presidential candidates have referred to alternative energy sources as being a very important consideration. Researchers and investors in fuel cell technology are very positive about the opportunities for funding they still expect to have available for fuel cell research. Talk is turning to action in the fuel cell world.

The 32nd Fuel Cell Seminar & Exposition is scheduled to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, from October 27 through October 30, at the Phoenix Convention Center. The theme for this year’s conference is “Fuel Cells for a Greener World.” Highlights are expected to include a demonstration of the latest in fuel cell technology and products. Presentations will include a wide range of applications for fuel cells, including robotics, residential electric uses, portable electronic gadgetry, materials handling equipment, and transportation. Opportunities will be offered for participants to actually test-drive a vehicle powered by fuel cells.

Over 175 companies are anticipated to be present and offer exhibits, along with over 2,000 participants at the event. The goal of the event is to discuss how fuel cell technology can lessen the impacts of global warming.

This year’s meeting will include the first ever “Women in Fuel Cells Luncheon” that recognizes contributions by women in the field of fuel cell technology, as it relates to engineering, science, marketing and deployment efforts. A goal of this group is also to encourage more young women who are interested in the field to get involved.

Despite the recent global financial woes, and perhaps because of them, the market for fuel cell technology is looking bright. Talk is turning more and more to renewable energy sources and alternative energy methods. Fuel cell technology is generating a lot of interest. Of course, fuel cells have a longer history than just the recent past, but market opportunities for their successful utilization are growing.
